Who do we talk to?

With senior staff and managers, we spend time talking about the academic background to our processes - explaining about the Theory of Constraints, Lean, Six Sigma, and Throughput Accounting. We also mentor senior staff throughout the implementation stage, and we're always on the end of a phone for advice and guidance.

For Paint Technicians, we have developed an in-depth course on the daily operation of robotic drying technology, including plenty of hands-on practice and experience, and how to service and maintain the machines in top condition. We also work with them to emphasise the importance of turnaround time in the booth as critical to the success of the business.

For non-paint shopfloor staff, there's some work to be done - in a Bodyshop Revolution business we don't separate out Panel from MET or Strip from Refit - one multi-skilled Bodyshop Technician does everything with very few exceptions. If it seems counterintuitive to have an experienced panel beater masking a car up, just take a look at the amount of vehicles it's possible to process each day using our processes, and perhaps think back to a time before departmentalisation when one person repaired a car from start to finish - and the pride you'd feel completing a repair you'd done yourself, instead of just being a small cog in a machine. If that's not enough to convince you, just come and see it in action. We invest a lot of time with Bodyshop Technicians, not just training them in using new technology like the Flydry robot, but in procedures right across the board - from how to manage their own lean bay, to the correct way to apply roll primer to achieve the best results in the fastest time.
